Greetings! If you are new to our newsletter let me introduce ourselves
PSA – The following is non-yarn related, but a funny story all the same. 🙂
I lost my keys.
Have you ever done that? You’re sure you know where you put them, but even if you check your bag 34 times, they’re still not there.
I knew that I locked up the shop. I knew I drove home, which requires keys. I remembered what I took out of my bag. Yet no keys to be found anywhere.
After looking in the obvious places 156 times, my mind started to make up illogical scenarios.
Did you drop them on the way in?
Are they in the car? No, because that was the reason why I couldn’t start the car.
Are they in the parking lot of the store?
Are they in the bathroom? Refrigerator? Cabinets? Drawers?
Nope, none of those places, so I started questioning reality.
Can I start my car without keys?
Could I drive home without keys in the car?
I was so distraught that my husband felt bad and helped me look. He checked every place I did and took out all my knitting in my project bag. (I’m working on Casapinkas Perfect Blend Shawl with 12 mini skeins.) Blah!
He mentioned that I should get one of those Tile thingies that help find lost stuff. Yeah, I have one. I checked the app. It’s at the store. I’m pretty sure I packed it up in a box. So helpful.
By now, I had gone over precisely what I did when I got home a thousand times. It’s 10:30 pm, and I am ready to give up. Tony and I go back to the car to test out if it would start with him standing outside of the car holding his keys because, of course, we did.
Then a thought hits me, I run inside and yell up to Lily where’s that tampon box I got for you and Lindsay?
Yep, my keys were in the tampon box that was in my purse that I bought for my girls. Keyless cars are great until you mistakenly throw the keys in something like a tampon box.
I know this isn’t related to fiber arts in any way except for the fact that my 12 mini skeins are a bit tangled.
Hopefully, when you lose or forget something, you can remember you’re not alone. Maybe you’ll even remember this story and laugh. We’ve all been there. Perhaps not the tampon box part, but still. 🙂
|Here’s some testing that I’m doing with worsted weight Little Stubbies.|
WHAT TO WORK ON NEXT???
I also purchased this sweater from Ravelry. Again, Instagram is being a jerk and showing me pretty projects that I want to start right away. I have to use my restraint so that I will finish, at least, one project this time.
But this is crochet, right? So it doesn’t count as a knitting project, right? Does anyone want to back me up on this? Also, what colors should I use? Maybe Little Stubbies? 😉
