I took five naps last Sunday! I figured out that I worked 33 days straight. It makes sense. We’re a new business. We have a lot to do. September was a busy month. And I scheduled things on Sunday and forgot about them.
Needless to say, I was tired.
Self-care and being gentle with yourself is hard work. I spend a lot of time failing at it.
I can feel burnout coming. I know I should stop and rest. I see how unproductive I’m becoming. And yet I think to myself, just one more thing. I’ll sleep after…
The irony is I’m surrounded by a craft that helps relieve stress. Yet carving out the time for it is the last on my mind. I even feel guilty about knitting in my yarn shop.
I know a lot of you can relate, and some of you want to come in here and hit me upside the head and tell me to knit dammit. Remember, I said self-care is hard work!
So I’ll take five naps in one day and hope the next time I will realize earlier that I need a break. If you feel like you need to smack me (hopefully not literally), do it. If you think you are burning out, let me know, and I can do the same for you. 😉
