She is a very talented artist who can calligraphy the crap out of anything you ask her to. She is full of creative ideas and can put together a mean color palette even if her mom doesn’t love it.
In true fashion, she answered some questions for us as her alter ego Alexis Rose. (Most of these answers are true for her.)
Who are you as a craftsperson?
I don’t like to get messy if I don’t have to :/ but I would say I have a great eye for stuff that looks good and will tell you if it looks gross.
Tell us about your business/craft.
I like to consider myself a marketing expert, and maybe a creative director. I can outline a pretty design for anything, and don’t tell me it looks bad cause I’ll maybe raise my voice. But I’m actually really nice. I can draw everything except noses. They are so difficult!
How are you motivated, what inspires you?
I’m inspired by my wardrobe, and sense of fashion. When it comes to like art and stuff I’m basically a fashionista for design.
What are your passions? (Does not have to be related to your craft or art)
I’m like so passionate. I once went to the Louvre in Paris and I like it was so awesome even though I didn’t know what most of the little art was. But, I mean, I can totally be passionate about anything as long as it doesn’t have bad roots or something.
What do you find the most frustrating or difficult in your creative process?
OMG, when David tells me that I have no taste and try to distract me all the time. I guess I also like get mad when I see something better than what I’ve done, but that like never happens so, yeah.
How do you overcome that challenge?
I just tell David to leave or I’ll dump out all his skincare products. And I just try to avoid like all social media so I don’t have to see other people being more successful than me.
What is your favorite tool, or the one crafter tool you couldn’t live without?
Definitely my good looks, without it you can’t get anywhere in this freaky world. But also it can get you held hostage in a van in Japan but like it’s fine, it’s in the past. Also, I would say my phone is helpful cause it gives me like so much information that I can’t possibly know. (It’s really her iPad and Apple Pen)
Is there a piece you’re most proud of? Why?
I did get rewarded for painting a turtle on a pile of leaves in 4th grade so that was pretty cool. But I like everything I do makes me proud until my mom throws shade at me for actually trying to be different and artsy. Ugh, she can be so annoying sometimes. (This is also true for Lily)
