If you are new to our weekly newsletters, here is some information about us. We have added all our past newsletters to our blog so if you want to you can read more about my irrational fear of roaches or how I lost my keys and found them in an unusual place.
Have you seen the Flores Sock by designer Joji? I noticed it on Instagram, and then a friend mentioned she was doing it, so on a whim, I decided to go for it!
On my 3 hour delay heading to Denver, CO, I cast on and realized that you could twist your yarn when joining in the round. Twice! I also realized that magic loop on size 24 needles is very frustrating.
Lastly, I confirmed my dislike for ssk. Why does that have to be so hard? I have to be missing something. Slip, slip, knit, or knit two together in the back drives me crazy. I split the yarn, and I can’t pull the stitch out. I’ll keep working on it.
I finished a sock. It fits my 7-year-old niece, but I finished a sock! And for the big news, I started the other one. My niece is going to love these. I have a picture of her trying them on below.
I have grown as a crafter last year and feel so proud of me. Next step, a sweater with fingering weight yarn! (I’m a little scared)
I’m going to be on TV
|I will be on “QC @ 3” on WBTV this Wednesday at 3 PM. I’m showing viewers how to table knit a big blanket in 5 minutes, and we’re not allowed to use time-lapse to speed up the show like YouTube Videos.|
My biggest fear? What do I wear? How do I do my hair? Can I lose 20 lbs in 3 days? I know all those don’t matter, but I still think about those things. I know this is going to be great!
Tune in if you can. I hear there will be a clip on their website shortly after, and I’ll be sure to send out the link!
We did it!
By “we” I mean Lily
Below is a list of our regular meetups and classes. Some may change, and we are adding specialty classes. We’re working on some classes that will pique your interest! The next newsletter will have more information! Meanwhile, check out what we have available!
While I was away, Logan and Lily decided to dye some yarn. Meet Mando and The Child. Both colorways were created based on the Disney+ show Mandalorian. (Our family has a thing for Star Wars, come to our shop and see all the props we stole from my husband’s “collection.” I don’t think he knows yet.)
We have been busy dyeing more colorways as well. Everything is fresh on our Shop Page. Check it out!
PS – Dark Magic is restocked and beautiful! It’s going fast
